Christmastime: A Season of Merriment

Imahe
Christmas is a time of love, peace, happiness, and good tidings. Christmas in itself brings a joy within the minds of everyone, and so most of us are on the look out on how to spend the Christmas Eve with our loved ones. For me, Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year because it is the season when family members go to church together and spend the “noche buena” or have a Family Christmas Party in our respective homes. Although some of the members in our family didn't celebrate with us last night's Christmas Noche Buena (because they celebrated it in the house of my brother's in-laws), but we're still complete in our Christmas thoughts, together bonded. Aside from spending Christmas with our family, there is also something really special about spending Christmas with the love of your life. It is such a joyous celebration which you are supposed to share with your loved one, which is why it is vital for us to spend it with him/her. The year 2015 is s...

Introspection on life choices

Imahe
I dare not call myself a true adventurer or a traveler, although in an alternate life I MIGHT wish I were. I think a truly traveled life means a life committed to not knowing a singular home but infinite options of momentary harbor; days measured not by hours but only by sunsets; relationships thriving despite the distance but never assured of the long term endurance...because to me, the world of a traveler is a myriad of endless possibilities of destinations to explore that there can never be time ,apart from it, for a full life in one place...  As such, I'm just nothing compared to those window-dressed tourists.  Because even as wanderlust undoubtedly runs thru my veins, my need for a life that thrives on quality & quantity time spent, relationships that flourish with the stability of consistent day to days, fulfillment from accomplishments earned thru committed long term efforts, runs much stronger in me. Life is really never meant to give us everything we wan...

SIRAO: MORE THAN JUST THE FLOWERS

Imahe
The wind that blew her hair that holiday afternoon caused her once neatly-fixed hair looked like it has never been combed at all. Her sweat has been dripping for quiet sometime caused by that late afternoon heat but she didn’t care at all. The gentle breeze that brushed through her sun-kissed skin and the euphoria brought by the magnificent sight behold in front of her was indeed worth all the struggles of hanging through cliffs, trekking down the slippery trails and drenching into the rushing waters of the rivers and falls. The tranquility over the place and the sweet scenery of the warm embrace of the luscious green mountains to the surrounding calm waters of the island was achingly marvelous. Too marvelous that she felt like crying her heart out. Why can’t people see that there’s more to life than just hovering over their gadgets all day? Why can’t people see that just a few distances from the busy life they have, is a peaceful place for those who are in doubt?...

The Tale of a Scaredy Cat in Malabuyoc Cebu

Imahe
I really thought Malabuyoc was just a vast plantation. Because every time I visit my father's hometown, Barili,    all I could see was a limitless green in the horizon. One weekending vacation last November 2014,  I joined my co-SSC leaders' team building activity (sort of). Since we are both fascinated with springs and waterfalls, we planned to have Malabuyoc as one of our itinerary. It's there we can find an untouched, undiscovered spring and falls. From Badian Church (drop-off point of Kawasan Falls), we drove to a long road with nothing but lush surroundings and shorelines. Uphill. Downhill. It seemed endless.  Alas, beyond the greens with bumpy stony roads, and with the guidance of the signage thingy, we able to arrive safely. Upon arrival, out of curiosity, we tried to ask some of the residents/tour guides of why the place has hidden paradise, but then they just smiled at us. Eventually, later on the tour guide told us that the mainit spring was act...

FUNTASTIC BERsummer 2014: Trippin' Round South Cebu

Imahe
For the very first time, the GIRL SCOUT-SSC leaders in the South District went on a trip to some famous places in Southern, Cebu and had their weekending vacation last Nov.21-23, 2014 (we're definitely the luckiest this time of days because we had a long weekend relaxation, plus a very good weather:-)) This rarely happens...when you are w/ different people from different stations, especially when some of us are new and haven't acquainted w/ each other, but because of this trip, because we have the same passion and cravings (just as I am), and because we're always on the go for some fun and adventure, we able to collide w/ each other**,)hahaha.                         The concept was just conceived a couple of months ago and we're just so thankful that it came to reality. The itinerary was purely jam-packed w/ incredible experience......
