Who is the person in the other side of the mirror?

When was the last time you looked at yourself in front of the mirror?

Did you see yourself or someone else?

Do you recognize that person who is staring back at you?

Is the person you’re looking at happy or not?

These questions open a door to one of a person’s biggest problems in life. A low self-esteem.

Self-esteem

-comes from a lot of places but psychologist have found out that it is developed closer to you than you think. Have an open mind and face this troubling facts that may have gnawed away on your self-esteem for a long time now.

Your Family background

-plays an active role on your self-esteem. Whether you need approval from your parents or you feel overshadowed by your siblings your self-esteem come from you identifying yourself separate from them.

Your family is your sun, water and soil but you have your own roots. You’re the one who absorbs the nutrients and grows. Remember you're growing different and unique so realize that you’re not just a copy nor try what they can do. You’re growing into something special, something that can bear fruit.

Your Achievements

-may also dictate who you ought to be. I remember an old story my grandparents used to tell me when I was young - there once was a special bird that was driven to be better than the rest so it flew to great lengths and also reached unreachable heights. So I asked them is this bird now? They told me, "it was never to be found because it never landed".

-The point of the story is we become so fixated on what we want to be that we forgot who we really are and the people we do it for. What defines you? Is it your works? Your titles?

Our achievements does not define us it only highlights what is already there.

The World

-has molded humanity for a long time now. I wish it was the other way around. At this day and age it’s all about fitting in and pleasing the crowd. Whatever the world dictates you to be or whatever the social media spouts as trending we haphazardly follow.

When exactly the product did became the producer. What you look like, what you feel about and what you think becomes lost as your put on a mask just to feel that you are accepted by everyone around you.

I believe that the person on the other side of the mirror deserves a chance to be heard, to be seen, to be true, free and real. God created you masterfully and unique to a special purpose. Just think about all the billions of people in the human race and how your fingerprints have no copy.

There is none like YOU. So be the best YOU that you can be. Generate this self-esteem and may it always comes from YOU not from somewhere else.

XoXo,
Carrie & Kenn
