GOD'S NOT DEAD (movie review)
The
movie God’s Not Dead exceptionally moved me. It’s one of the best movies I've seen in a while.
It’s a little boring, but God's Not Dead has a positive message about standing up for one's beliefs. Based on a series of court cases where colleges have infringed upon students' religious liberties, freshman Josh Wheaton takes up his philosophy instructor's challenge to prove that there's a God; and in doing so he starts a ripple effect that spreads throughout his community. The acting's pretty poor all around, and the writing's not that good either. Yet it's rather interesting how the story plays out and interconnects the different characters.
I’m a Catholic and as I’ve watched this movie, I’ve found it stereotypical, one-sided, and offensive that it will push many away from the gospel, which is not what any supposed Christian movie should be doing.
Because of this movie, I got to the point that the Professor was not really a pure atheist, he’s a Christian having a snit fit and rejecting his religion of choice. He just abandoned or rejected God in anger over the death of his mother. He became weak and does not really have a strong faith in God and its also because of vulnerability.
In my own reflection, God really exists, Jesus exists, is the only true God, and that the Bible is infallible. The vulnerabilities of a person if he somehow rejects God, well its just a test on how much you handle hardships but life must have to go on, hold on and have a strong faith in God.
As with my own experiences, I do have some vulnerabilities too, but not that very painful and hard to forget. I just have to consider it as part of my life. I love God with all my mind, heart, and body. I believe in the ungodly culture we live in today people have lost their way and purpose. If I may be in some situations that Christianity is under attack, we need to stand up and fight for God and let people know that our faith and beliefs will NOT be shaked. I will fight for God no matter what the enemy tells me not to do or no matter how society tells me how to feel or act. The God I serve is love and forgiveness and He is worthy of all praise. So thanks to the producers of the movie God’s Not Dead’ for making a stand in what they believe of Christ.
